Welcome to our latest newsletter. Summer has gone and winter is starting to settle in.
We at Stevens have a very busy calendar for the balance of the year. A lot of new product coming to market, starting this month with the all new Mazda CX3. We have two demonstrator units in stock now so feel free to swing by and take one for a test drive. We also have the new Ranger and the much anticipated launch of the Ford Everest in September. Everest will be a new segment for us and we are excited about its arrival. Later in the year we have the all new Mazda MX5 and of course the American icon “Mustang” in December.
We have been keeping busy in the community and you can read about our involvement with some of our partners in this newsletter.
As always, feel free to drop in and don’t hesitate to contact me personally on any issue.

Variety Bash 2015
Stevens Motors are very proud to be involved with Variety the children’s charity each year. Pictured here at this year’s event, members of staff presenting various goodies to kids at school.
Petone Rowing Club has a strong track record of achievement, both on and off the water. Stevens Motors is proud to make a contribution to their success.
The club’s training regime revolves around safety. On the water this is achieved by the coaches and their support boat. We were pleased to donate a new safety boat to the club recently.
New Zealand made Aakron 3.5m Ocean Master with Honda 15hp 4 stroke outboard.
The Ford Everest large SUV will redefine the segment, bringing class-leading fuel efficiency, true all-wheel drive off-road ability and up-to-the-minute technology for seven passengers.
With tried and tested body-on-frame construction and Ford's Terrain Management and Intelligent Four Wheel Drive systems, the Everest promises capable off-road potential with a 225mm ground clearance allowing water crossings up to 600mm in depth.
Despite the Everest’s off-road credentials, Ford says its big SUV is at home on the road too, and its solid rear-axle with Watts-link, combined with coil-spring suspension all round, provides a comfortable ride for occupants. The interior is more car-like than tough off-roader, with one of the quietest cabins in its class aided by active noise cancellation and hydraulic engine mounts.
The Ford Everest is due to launch here in New Zealand in September 2015.
The first-ever Mazda CX-3 is the result of a pursuit of beauty and radical design. This latest iterati on of KODO design is bold and stylish and has already captured the hearts of many New Zealanders when it launched earlier this month.
Designed with outstanding quality, style and ease-of-use in mind, the First-Ever Mazda CX-3 compact crossover offers everything you need to get around town or into the great outdoors, with the distinctive feel that Mazda strives for in every model.
Some car reviews by one of our customers
Not written by a professional motoring journalist - just an average driver's perspective, and an interesting read.
I had to make a quick trip to Hawkes Bay with my daughter a couple of weekends ago. Having walked past my wife’s brand new Mazda2 in our garage for a few weeks, I thought it would be great to take it for a longer drive than just down to the store for milk.
It’s not very often that you get asked by your Ford Dealership if you’d like to take an extended drive in a new model, before it's officially launched. So when the guys at Stevens Motors asked if I’d like to take the new Falcon XR8 for a drive, I leapt at the chance.
FORD F150 Platinum
What better way to travel to the best Americana vehicle event in the country than in a Ford F150 Platinum? Beach Hop 2015, held in Whangamata each year, is an exciting celebration of American Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and modified motorcycles.
The good news is that after a long wait we have confirmed dates for the first shipments of the All-New Mustang. The marque is being released in New Zealand this December in both fastback and convertible form with two engine variants; the extremely successful ‘Coyote’ 5L V8 and the powerfully efficient 2.3L 4 cylinder Ecoboost.
The Ecoboost will appeal to those who would like an attractive highly equipped and well priced sports car they can drive every day, but who may not see themselves scooting around in pulsing great V8. The GT V8 will of course appeal to Mustang enthusiasts, muscle car lovers, and petrol heads alike (having said that, the new generation of Ford V8 technology means that the new Mustang V8 will be more fuel efficient than a lot of 6 and 8 cylinder cars on our roads today).
We have already placed quite a number of firm orders for customers, who will be receiving their new Mustangs toward the end of the year.
Since our last newsletter we have featured two Mustang owners, had a couple of prize winners, and attended a fantastic muscle car event in Whangamata. We also had the opportunity of having a new 2015, 50th Anniversary model Mustang GT in our showroom for several weeks, so got to see the new car in the flesh.
Model - 1968 Mustang 302 GT
Engine Modified and stroked 302, carburettor fed V8
Displacement (cc/cu-in) 5400cc (330 cu-in)
Model - 2011 Shelby GT500 Convertible

Displacement (cc/cu-in) 5400cc (330 cu-in)
Prize Winners - Mike and Charlene Stayte
The prize-winners for 'Best Mustang Dealership Suggestion' were Mike and Charlene Stayte of Auckland.
The prize was a dinner at any restaurant they wished. They chose Restaurant Eight at the Langham Hotel in Auckland, which is renowned for its beautiful selection of food and wine. Mike and Charlene are pictured here (left) enjoying their night out with Rick Wallace (our Mustang guy) and his wife Debbie (right).
Beach Hop is a celebration of all things 50's, 60's and even 70's, held in Whangamata each year. Participants and visitors alike come decked out in rock-n-roll and Americana themes, but the big attraction is the cars. Hundreds of hotrods and modified American muscle cars pack the small town for five days.
Naturally Beach Hop attracts many Mustang owners from around the country as entrants and visitors, so this year we went to check it out. The new Mustang we had in our showroom for several weeks was there on the Ford New Zealand stand and attracted a lot of attention.
